Westward expansion is one of the areas that grade eight has been studying this year. We've been learning about the Santa Fe Trail and have read some of the journal entries from the Lewis and Clark Expedition. As one of our assignments, the students were asked to write a journal entry of their own as if they were on the trail westward. Students could write as themselves or as if he/she were someone else.
